I’ve got a slightly obsessive problem in that when I get into books, particularly a series of books, I cannot put the fucking things down. Nobody told me that the story is not done yet and that he takes, like, seven years between books. Last summer I plougheed through something like 9,000 pages of A Game of Thrones and I finally started saying, ‘Wow, that’s weird. I don’t feel like there’s and end coming.’ I got to the end and my friend said, ‘Oh no, it’ll be like ten more years.’ I grabbed him by the shirt, pulled him close and said, ‘What?!! This so much. I love both AffC and aDwD, and I love them because we get so much character development. I actually go mad when I see posts like ”nothing happens!”,”these books are useless!”, ”what is the use of Quentyn?”, ”I don’t care about character development I just want to know who the heads of the dragon are”. WELL I CARE ABOUT CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT. AND ALL THE TINY LITTLE DETAILS GRRM IS GIVING US. AND WHEN IT’S ALL SAID AND DONE, AND WE KNOW WHO THE FREAKIN HEADS OF THE DRAGON ARE, YOU’LL BE GLAD THOSE DETAILS EXIST, TOO. THEY ARE WHAT WILL MAKE RE-READS SO ENJOYABLE. ./
